The beautiful and talented performer Shakira is to give a free concert to fans in Mexico next weekend, and already the turnout is being predicted to exceed more than 100,000 fans of the iconic Latina pop diva.
In a press release, Mexico City authorities said that “domestic and foreign visitors” can enjoy Sunday’s free event, for which extensive security will be put in place.
“With the aim of converting Mexico City into the Show Capital and offering quality and free artistic events, the government of the Federal District will present Shakira on May 27 at 8 p.m. in the Zocalo,” reads the text of the announcement.
Cafe Tacuba, Mana, Alejandro Fernandez, Juan Gabriel, Chayanne, Pablo Milanes, Miguel Bose and Shakira’s compatriot Juanes, among other performers, have already put on free concerts in the Zocalo.
