I can’t wait to see you all, says Shakira

Shakira is super excited about performing for her fans in Mumbai tomorrow. “I can’t wait to see you all!” says the gorgeous singer, who is scheduled to arrive this evening.

In India as a part of the tour for her latest album ‘Oral Fixation 2’, the self-confessed recluse is known to have developed her belly dancing skills to overcome shyness. “I am an incredibly shy person, but I feel very much at home on the stage,” she reveals. Known to have had a tough childhood, it is only a passion for music that made Shakira the incredible performer she is today. “Since childhood I have felt like it was my destiny to perform in front of people and share my music,” she gushes.

Ask the global icon for Latin-American music about having managed to create a successful platform for the genre and she adds, “I always try and include an element of musical fusion in all my songs. It comes very naturally to me. I’m sure there are hints of my entire heritage in my music and probably that is why I have been accepted.”

Apart from 80 other musicians and 25,000 kilos worth musical equipment been flown down for her show tomorrow, her audience might also get a special treat as she plans to land right between them on a crane at one point during the concert. The songstress is also slated for a post-concert dinner with fashion designer Vikram Phadnis, who may even gift her one of his creations. So, are you ready to hippy-shake?
